Privacy at a glance
RedPanda Clean is an iOS cleanup app offered by an independent individual developer. Most cleanup analysis occurs on your device. Connecting an email account is optional, and email data travels directly between your device and the provider.
This Policy explains what information the app and website access, why they access it, where it is stored, how it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
1. Developer and scope
RedPanda Clean (“RedPanda Clean,” the “App,” “we,” or “us”) is offered by an independent individual developer (the “Developer”), not by a company or organization. This Policy applies to the RedPanda Clean iOS application, this website, optional email connections, advertising and analytics integrations, support messages, and diagnostic information you choose to share.
2. Information used for on-device cleanup
Photos and videos
With your permission, the App reads photo and video metadata and creates thumbnails to identify screenshots, duplicate or similar photos, and videos. This analysis is performed on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your photo or video content. Deletion occurs only after you request it through Apple’s Photos framework.
Contacts and calendar
If you choose these features and grant permission, the App reads contacts and calendar events on your device to identify duplicate, incomplete, old, or untitled items. Processing occurs locally, and records are changed only after an action you initiate.
App and device information
The App stores limited local preferences and operational state, including theme choice, permission-flow flags, cached thumbnails, and a backup-excluded snapshot of the latest media scan. The App also reads available device storage to display storage information. These items are used to operate the App and do not contain photo or video contents.
3. Google and Gmail user data
Connecting Gmail is optional. If you choose to connect Gmail,
RedPanda Clean uses Google OAuth 2.0 with PKCE and requests only
the
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify
permission. RedPanda Clean never receives your Google password.
Data the App accesses
- Your Gmail account address, used to identify the connected account in the App.
- Message and thread identifiers, sender name and address, subject, date, and whether an unsubscribe header is available.
- The content of a specific message only when you request an on-device, read-only preview. Remote images and tracking content are not loaded.
How Gmail data is used
The App queries Gmail for messages that may fit user-facing cleanup groups, such as older verification codes, promotions, updates, and social notifications. It categorizes the returned metadata on your device. If you select messages and confirm an action, the App can archive them or move them to Gmail Trash. Moving to Trash does not immediately permanently delete a message.
Storage, retention, and deletion
OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored only in the iOS Keychain on your device. Message metadata is stored only in a local, backup-excluded cache so results can be shown in the App. Message bodies used for previews are not added to that cache. We operate no email backend and do not receive or store your Gmail content, metadata, OAuth tokens, or credentials on a Developer server.
Disconnecting the Gmail account in RedPanda Clean removes its locally stored OAuth token and metadata cache. You can also revoke RedPanda Clean’s access from your Google Account permissions.
Sharing and human access
Google user data is not sold, used for advertising, used to build advertising profiles, transferred to data brokers, or shared with unrelated third parties. The Developer does not allow humans to read Gmail data. Data is transmitted directly between the App on your device and Google as required to provide the features you request.
4. Other connected email providers
RedPanda Clean may support QQ Mail, 163 Mail, and iCloud Mail through a provider-generated authorization code, client authorization password, or app-specific password over an encrypted TLS connection. The App tells you not to enter your normal account password. Credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain. Message metadata and on-demand previews travel directly between your device and the selected provider and are handled locally in the same manner described above.
5. Advertising, analytics, and subscriptions
Free users may receive advertising through Google Mobile Ads. The App also integrates Meta App Events, and this website uses the Meta Pixel. Subject to device settings, service configuration, consent choices, and applicable law, these providers may process identifiers, IP address or approximate location derived from it, device and app information, website visits, advertising interactions, usage events, and diagnostics to provide, secure, measure, and improve advertising or analytics.
Google user data obtained through Gmail APIs is kept separate and is never used for advertising or analytics. The App requests App Tracking Transparency permission before enabling tracking that requires it. Apple processes subscription billing; RedPanda Clean reads Apple-verified product and entitlement status but does not receive payment-card details.
6. Support and diagnostics
Information you type in Contact Us is passed to your chosen email app and is sent only when you choose to send it. Share Diagnostics creates a text report on your device containing the App version, operating-system version, and recent RedPanda Clean log messages, then opens an email addressed to the Developer. It does not intentionally attach photo, video, email, contact, or calendar content. Sharing is always user-initiated.
8. Retention and deletion
On-device scan results are refreshed when you scan and can be cleared with Clear Cache. Connected-email metadata remains only in the App’s backup-excluded local cache. Disconnecting an email account removes that account’s stored credential and cache. Local App data is removed when you delete the App, subject to Apple’s device and Keychain behavior. Apple, Google, Meta, and connected email providers retain information under their own policies.
9. Your choices and rights
You may decline or revoke Photos, Contacts, Calendar, Tracking, or connected-email access. You may disconnect an email account and clear its local metadata, clear other analysis data in the App, stop sharing diagnostics, manage permissions in iOS Settings or your provider account, or uninstall the App. Depending on your location, applicable law may provide additional access, correction, deletion, objection, or portability rights.
10. Security
The App uses Apple system protections, encrypted provider connections, OAuth PKCE and state validation, Keychain credential storage, and data minimization. No method of electronic processing or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
11. Children’s privacy
RedPanda Clean is not directed to children under 13 or the equivalent minimum age in a user’s jurisdiction. The Developer does not knowingly request personal information from children. Contact the Developer if you believe a child has provided information through support email.
12. International processing
Apple, Google, Meta, and connected email providers may process information in countries other than where you live, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when the App, website, integrations, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated where required.
